HANDSTANDS WITH ROEL
Do you want to begin your handstand journey, but you feel scared, not strong enough, you believe you’re unable to do it or just don’t know where to start?
You’re not alone! Handstands can be scary, and intimidating but they don’t have to be.
Everyone can learn to handstand. You just need to have the desire to try, have a basic understanding, and then just put in the time and be consistent.
Handstands are a skill that require practice, consistency, and time. The more time you spend on your hands, the more comfortable you inevitably become.
Consistency is key!
During this workshop we’ll create a safe, enjoyable, and comfortable space, where we can grown and learn together.
This workshop is designed to teach you:
the fundamentals of a handstand
the tools that you have at your disposal to support you on your handstand journey
drills and techniques for strengthening your handstand practice (conditioning + endurance)
to cultivate trust and confidence within yourself to practice handstands in a safe and effective way on your own
We will cover the following aspects:
How to fall out of a handstand (exit your handstand in a specific and safe way)
How to build wrist strength, shoulder and core stability
Hand placement, body positioning + gazing (technique)
Exercises to increase handstand-specific flexibility and mobility
Awareness, proprioception & balance
Breathwork + mindfulness (focus and presence - handstands in itself can even be viewed as a moving meditation practice!)
Come with an open mind and a willingness to play. Now let’s begin and get upside down.
… and do it over and over and over again.
